I'm super close to my grampa, who is 88. In his earlier years he wrote a series of poems, which he is proud of, one for each month of the year. For his Christmas present for 2010 I wanted to surprise him by illustrating each poem and making a calendar for the family.

Well, I guess I bit off more than I could chew at the time because I only managed to finish 7 of the 13 pieces. I'll get the others done soon, but probably not in time for Christmas of '11!

This is a digital mock-up of the May poem, and I hesitated to put it up because it's just not a finished concept... but I guess that's what scraps are for. Anyways, look for a finished version soon.
